In the early 1970s, Luigi Ghirri (b. Scandiano, Reggio Emilia, 1943 - d. Roncocesi, Reggio Emilia, 1992) delved into fundamental ideas about the role of photography in contemporary art. He often created maquettes in order to visualize and structure his series and think about his work. This book is a journey through the work and the vision of this important Italian artist. It is published on the occasion of a touring exhibition of this body of works, starting at Castello di Rivoli, Turin, in 2012.
