This latest release from Steve Howe amazes you. Not just because of his great playing and beautiful composition. It's more than that! This is the first time he used acoustic guitars on all tracks. No electric guitars!
There are 18 tracks here with the instrumental version of yes' To Be Over as the last track. Track 5, J's Theme, reminds me a lot of Yes' Leaves of Green (excerpts from The Ancient). Howe didn't play all by himself, but he's accompanied by several musician on drums, piano, violin and some more.
His guitar playing is very neat and accurate. Although the whole composition can't be described as classical music (because he has many influences), listening to all is really enjoyable. Unlike Steve Hackett (which was largely known as an outstanding player and composer for classical music), Howe can still perform other music influences and blend them together in a very smooth way.
This is his best solo effort since Turbulence
